Azerbaijan State University of Economics (ASUE) (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Dövlət İqtisad Universiteti (ADIU)) is a public university located in Baku, Azerbaijan. ASUE was founded in 1930 and it is one of the biggest educational institutions of the South Caucasus. ASUE has 14 faculties, where 16 thousand students get education, and it offers master programs in 57 specialties, employing more than 1000 teachers, including 62 professors and 344 docents, among whom there are active members of theAzerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, New York Academy of Sciences, winners of state awards, honored teachers and scientists. ASUE is a full member of theEuropean University Association, Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, University Council of Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and Eurasian Association of Universities. There are 650 undergraduate and postgraduate students from 10 countries of the world getting education at ASEU.
In 2007 a Library and Information Center and a student career center started functioning at ASUE and also a new 7 floor educational building that meets the highest international standards was opened. The same year ASUE received the “European quality” award and the European Club of Rectors and European University Association.
The strategic direction of ASUE development was to bring the educational process up to the international standards by 2010, finishing the international accreditation process and ensuring full compliance with Bologna Process, as well as more active participation in the international market of educational services.

Organization of the Islamic Cooperation Model
Model Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) -- International Relations Education Programme is one of the projects launched by the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) which is aimed at youth cooperation in Muslim countries, supporting them to share knowledge and experience.
The idea of MOIC has been initiated by Eurasian Regional Center of Islamic Conference Youth Forum and the projcet started in 2011 in Baku. At that time Azerbaijan was one of the first countries holding Model OIC. Ministry of Youth and Sport of the the Republic of Azerbaijan and Baku State University are partners of ICYF-DC in this Project. In 2013 the project renamed to "OIC Model -- Academy of International Relations"
At the same time the project is carried out by the Model OIC Clubs in Turkey, Yemen, Malaysia and other Muslim countries.
Every year over 300 students of the different universities of Azerbaijan, take part in this project.
During the 6 weeks trainings the students attend lectures on such topics as the role of Islamic civilization, the process of dialogue of civilizations as well as OIC view on the issues of human rights, globalization and gender equity held by eminent scholars and Ambassadors of the OIC member-states in Baku.
According to the Poject the working groups created by the students who represent the OIC countires are received by the respective embassies and informed about the foreign policy prioirities of those countires. Then youth discuss the topical problems such as geopolitical processes in Near and Middle East countries, global economic and cultural problems, the occupation policy of Armenia and come up with the ideas on their solution within the framework of academic simulation. The representatives of the embassies and jury that evaluate the level of knowledge and skills of students also participate at the simulation of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers session.
Successful working groups and students at the "Model OIC" are awarded by Jury. Five students selected by the July get opportunity to participate at the International Model OIC together with their counterparts from Muslim countries which is held in one of the OIC countries.
The first "International Model OIC was held in Istanbul (July 2011), the second in Kazan (July, 2012), the third in Kuala Lumpur (July, 2013) . In summer of 2014 about 100 student from OIC Member states will gather in Istanbul for fourth International MOIC.

Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 15 /Trend/
Opening of a vocational school No. 5, which was rebuilt under the initiative and support of the President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, was held on Sept. 14 in Buzovna settlement of Baku.
First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony. She cut the ribbon marking the opening of the educational facility. The First Lady then viewed photo stand reflecting the previous state of the school. The facility occupies a territory of 1.2 hectares. The school was founded in 1969. Now the school offers special training in cinema, theatre and computer engineering, accounting, hairdressing, filming, lighting, sound operating, clothing and other professions.
The term of study is two years. This year 160 students have entered the school. The number of students will be increased by 320 next year.
Then the First Lady of Azerbaijan visited the filming and sound recording studios, the assembly hall, classrooms, dressing room, sewing shop, medical center, library, and other units of the school. A sports complex for students was built in the courtyard of the school. The complex is equipped with futsal, basketball, volleyball, track and field home gym.
Ms. Mehriban Aliyeva expressed her satisfaction with the conditions established here, stressed the importance of vocational education.
